Koster names St. Louis lawyer Kenney as chief of staff

Attorney General-elect Chris Koster has made his first major appointment, tapping St. Louis lawyer and former assistant attorney general Robert Kenney as his chief of staff.
Kenney, president of the Mound City Bar Association, is also currently a member of the firm Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus and previously worked in consumer protection for Jay Nixon, Koster’s predecessor.
“Robert has the superior legal and interpersonal skills that will not only make him an outstanding leader in the Attorney General’s office but an effective ambassador to the political community throughout the state,” Koster said in a statement.
Kenney, 37, aworked as a substitute teacher in the city schools before practicing law.

Congratulations Robert! I’m confident that you’ll do a great job and I look forward to working with you in Jefferson City!
Great pick! Robert has great morals and integrity. This pick makes me feel somewhat more at ease with the incoming Koster administration.
We have had an extensive reported news feature on this development up on our website since early this moring - http://www.stlamerican.com. It also is the subject of our Editorial in tomorrow’s paper.
Robert Kenney is an excellent lawyer and public servant. He will do a wonderful job as Chief of Staff, and I think that this is a fantastic pic by Koster.
Koster is proving to be quite a progressive Democrat. I did not support him in the primary, but I must say I am impresed so far.
BTW - why does the American have to advertise their newspaper on the Post’s website, seems a little odd. I guess their circulation is suffering like the rest of the papers. It’s a shame the American used to be a pretty good source of news. Their political column used to be a good place to pick up tid bits, recently it is just a bash Slay column.
Further research on Kenney shows that the Missouri Ethics Commission has him registered as Don Calloway’s (St. Louis County) deputy campaign treasurer.
Wow! There’s such a thing as the Homeless World Soccer Cup ??

Mr. Kenney will provide a fresh perspective and I wish him well as he prepares to move to Jefferson City.
