Montee to unveil next phase of City Hall audit
State Auditor Susan Montee will release the next installment of her wide-ranging look into the books at City Hall this morning.
Members of the local Green Party, seeking to ensure adequate funding for lead-paint abatement, petitioned Montee to audit city finances last year.
State law, though, requires only Montee’s office audit the city — and not necessarily focus on lead paint abatement.
So far, auditors haven’t touched on the issue at all. In October, Montee released a set of audit reports critical of the Board of Aldermen and the city’s vehicle policy.
The reports delivered at today’s 11 a.m. press conference will focus on the Parks Department, the city treasurer, and the comptroller.

Audit reveals solid gold faucets were installed in city parks restrooms and calls for them to be replaced with gold filled ones immediately.
Perhaps also they should not be spending $6000 a pop on police chief badges.
It’s about time Gary Bess Parks director’s record are looked at! Enough gross corruption!
The police department is NOT run by the City….sorry.
