Nixon to represent Missouri at meeting with Obama in Philly
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Gov.-elect Jay Nixon will get his first chance to meet his new peers on Tuesday at a governor’s conference in Philadelphia.
Nixon will represent Missouri at an Independence Hall confab with president-elect Barack Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden.
They’ll meet to discuss the “the unique challenges facing our states during this economic crisis,” a transition spokesman told the Wall Street Journal.
The meeting is being hosted by Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a former Philadelphia mayor who is currently chair of the National Governors Association.
