Running out of local endorsements? Slays nets Talboy’s support

Talboy

Mayor Francis Slay has racked up so many early endorsements that now he’s reaching across the state to get more.

Already, Slay has announced support for his third term from a diverse group of figures and groups — Dick Gephardt, T.D. El-Amin, current city workers, retired city workers.

Last week, Slay added to that total with the backing of State Rep. Mike Talboy — who represents Kansas City.

Talboy is also chair of the House Democratic Campaign Committee, a position that rarely takes a position on party primaries — at least for the Legislature.

If outgoing State Sen. Maida Coleman does indeed decide to get into the race, she might have to look hard for individuals who haven’t already sided with Slay.

You really have to ask yourself why is someone from the western side of the state getting involvled in local politics on the eastern side of the state. Especially a state rep. This one perplexes me and riles me up a little

Molecules are powerful things. Take for example salt . . .. Sodium on it’s own will kill you. Pretty sure Chloride will too. Put them together and pow, we have Salt. Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

Black Democrat doesn’t even live in the city……maybe you and your minnions should spend more time worrying about what is going on in the county where you live……there is plenty there to keep you busy!

Your right I dont live in the city, but I pay lots of my tax dollars to the city. Therefore, I have a concern about what takes place in the city were i chose to house my business.

I support Slay but Talboy is following in the tradition of Jeff Smith who famously got involved in supporting Rodney Hubbard. Smith’s mismanangement led to the loss of three seats. If Talboy does stupid stuff like this he will fare no better than Smith. Someone in charge of a campaign committee should worry about primaries not general elections.

Or maybe having that trainwreck of a mayor in KC he just wants to show support for someone competent to hold the office in one of our two big MO cities.
