Slay

Don’t look now Maida Coleman, but Mayor Francis Slay just announced support from more than half of the Board of Aldermen, as well as the head city Dem, and a former governor.

With less than two days left to file, Slay this announced endorsements this week from 16 alderman, in addition to Brian Wahby, chairman of the city Democratic Party, and former Gov. Missouri Bob Holden.

The endorsement announcement also includes several Democratic committeemen, including the 23rd Ward’s Francis R. Slay, the mayor’s pop. The mayor also announced the support of City Hall’s only Republican alderman, Fred Heitert, whose ward includes Slay’s new home near Carondelet Park.

Coleman, who has represented the city as a State Senator the last eight years, is expected to fill against Slay sometime before Friday at 5 p.m., the dealine to join the March 3 Democratic primary.

The question is: Will she have enough time to pose a true threat to Slay?

Yes, in fact, I’m warming to this theory. How about you all vote for our leaders, and we vote for yours? After all, people too close to the situation obviously make poor choices. And we really need to rethink this whole thing about letting parents raise their own children…obviously they are too close to those kids to know what is really best, someone further away from the situation could make better decisions. And voting for our own President? Obviously we are too close to that–the EU should do that for us from now on. Yes, there are so many things we need to redo under this theory, this will keep us all busy for a while…….

I think you’re giving jackson too much of your time, he can’t vote for Slay anyway. ;)

I think Slay has reached “critical mass”, not in a good way :)

If Michael McMillan doesn’t run for mayor, there is no way I am voting for anybody but Slay. All the black people in city politics hate whites for no reason other than because of the color of their skin (ha ha the irony is just sickening). Madia Coleman is almost as bad as Jamillah Nasheed, the most racist black woman of ALL TIME!!!!!!!

If Madia Coleman wins, I am going to move out of the city and become a Republican!!!!!!!

Umm, not to rain on your parade, but Mike McMillan is half black.

If Maida Coleman wins, please stay in the city and form a viable Republican opposition. One party rule (dictatorship) is atrocious!

“With less than two days left to file, Slay this announced endorsements this week from 16 alderman”; Jake my brother, arent you the one who likes to point out others’ typos? Is that glass house you live in energy efficient? Do the words proofreading outloud or backwards mean anything to you? Just saying.

No amount of money can make up for true grit, compassion and hard work. Senator Coleman truly cares about the whole City of St. Louis. She has worked tirelessly as Senator and not only for the big developers continually writing their letters of support, checking into their cancelled leases, ect, but has actually assisted thousands of less fortunate citizens who had no where to go - utility assistance, rent assistance - homelessness - Maida has worked tirelessly on the dismantling of the City of St. Louis School system and fought to make sure everyone had a voice and that every child will get the best free education possible. As a divorced single mother of three yes she is no stranger to financial struggles - but proudly - because of her hard work and grit she worked her way out of those problems - she is an inspiration to all who know her or who she has touched. If only those who she has assisted through her legislative efforts get out and remember what she has done for them and vote - we will see a successful run - it would be easy for her to take a good appointment from the new administrationand let the City of St. Louis continue to be systematically dismantled by Slay, but Maida is doesn\’t take the easy way out - she does the right thing - not for herself maybe but for the community and consitutents she loves.

The City of St. Louis should be proud to have such a fine lady willing to make the sacrifice to help.

Hey Smith…
Coleman is the ram in the bush!
Go on to confession sweetie and forget it!
Lean not to your own pride or understanding, less your bucket may overflow
