Turner: Rex’s loss is Koster’s gain
Joplin, Mo. teacher/blogger Randy Turner took a ton of time away from the turkey over the long Thanksgiving weekend to troll through the latest records of the Missouri Ethics Commission and several courts.
Among his numerous findings detailed on The Turner Report:
– Multimillionaire Rex Sinquefield has closed most of his 100-plus PACs, and shifted the money into the few remaining ones. Sinquefield’s action is no surprise, since he’d signaled earlier that he’d drop his PACs in favor of direct contributions to candidates, since campaign donation limits are no longer in place.
— The biggest beneficiary of Sinquefield’s last-minute largesse appears to be his longtime fav candidate, now Attorney General-elect Chris Koster, a Democrat. The campaign report filed by one of Sinquefield’s remaining PACs reported giving a $45,590 donation to Koster just over a week ago.
Koster has filed a report noting the contribution as well.
– Eric Feltner, former chief of staff to Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, can’t seem to stay off the Internet — even when the court orders him to do so. Feltner will now have to go cold turkey in jail for 10 days.
– New state Sen.-elect Jane Cunningham, R-Chesterfield, briefly overlooked an $8,000 contribution, and apparently was a tardy filer of same to the Ethics Commission.

Gee… I’m old enough to remember when reporters did this type of thing.

Fixed the typo, so the link should now work. Thanks BobZ for the headsup.
