Inauguration hustling

As I walked to the National Mall this morning I was stunned with the number of vendors selling Obama merchandise. Not just t-shirts, hats and scarves, but long johns, action figures and Obama chocolate too, among several other oddities. The chocolate vendor shouted, “Get your Obama chocolate. First chocolate president!” A lot of thought went into the creation of these items, and I found it interesting that several of the vendors were selling stuff for the first time.
I stopped and talked with two vendors who drove up from Atlanta to sell merchandise. Abdur Rahim and his friend Abdul Jami share their selling philosophy in this video. As they say, without a souvenir, you got no bragging rights.
President Obama, don’t let the bastards get you down.
