Kaine pick puts Mizzou alum at head of the DNC

Kaine and Obama on the campaign trail this summer
Barack Obama has tapped a Mizzou alum to be the new leader of his party.
The president-elect has asked Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine – a Kansas City native who graduated from the University of Missouri — to be the next chair of the Democratic National Committee.
Kaine is one of a trio of Mizzou grads that are serving — or will soon — as U.S. governors. Oregon Gov.Ted Kulongoski, raised in a St. Louis orphange, is a Tiger, as is Jay Nixon, who will be sworn-in as Missouri’s governor next week.
Like Obama, Kaine is also a Harvard Law school grad, making him the latest Harvard lawyer to join the incoming president’s inner-circle.
