Kinder and Draft

Lt. Gov Peter Kinder and Rams linebacker Chris Draft will unveil “Winning with Asthma,” a national campaign targeted at coaches, nurses and high school students to raise awareness for people with asthma in Missouri. The issue is a personal one for Draft, who has asthma.

Kinder and Draft, along with Peggy Gaddy, the asthma coordinator at the Department of Health and Senior Services, will unveil the program at 1:30 p.m. tommorow in the House Lounge on the third floor of the Capitol.

The campaign will be targeted at middle and high school students, as well as coaches and school nurses. The goal is to help them recognize the effects of asthma and prevent attacks. It will take the form of posters and literature, as well as radio and television public service announcements.

The National Lieutenant Governor’s Association sponsors the program.

Kinder…why don’t you concentrate more on the medicare cuts that you helped facilitate back in 2005! Don’t let this photo op fool any of you. Kinder is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Chris Draft is the most community oriented Ram. He is involved in a lot of charitable events. He would make a great Republican candidate when he gets done playing.

Kinder’s a great guy, mo blues. Medicare cuts? Medicare is a federal program — get off the talking points and learn what you’re saying.

Jim… Kinder is not a great guy. Do you know him? He is not, as he used to call certain other people, “a gentleman and a scholar.” He’s also not an original thinker, as evidenced by his affinity for cliches.

This sounds like a great program and a good first step towards raising awareness of asthma. Another great step would be to implement a statewide ban on smoking in public places, as second-hand smoke contributes to asthma-related complications. I hope that the Lt. Governor will work towards the implementation of smoking bans, as well as programs such as Winning with Asthma.
