Judge Limbaugh

Judge Limbaugh

If you’re the only Republican on stage at inauguration day, why not make a statement.

Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, the lone member of the GOP to win statewide office in November, will have U.S. District Court Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. swearing him in for a second four-year term.

Limbaugh, of course, is cousin to conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh, a Cape Girardeau native.

Four years ago, when he was a member of the state Supreme Court, Judge Limbaugh swore in Gov. Matt Blunt for the term of office that ends in a few hours.

Jay Nixon will get sworn in as governor by State Supreme Court Justice Laura Denvir Stith, who will also preside over the oath of office for Secretary of State Robin Carnahan and Treasurer Clint Zweifel.

Appeals Court Judge Joe Dandurand will swear-in new Attorney General Chris Koster - -who is also Dandurand’s new boss. The jurist is leaving the bench to become Koster’s deputy attorney general.

Nephew Rush is playing the theme song to “Good Times” whenever he talks about Roland Burris. You know…”Movin on up, to the east side…well, we finally…”
Real classy. Compare the Senator from Illinois to George Jefferson….The uneducated foot-stompin black dry-cleaner who makes it big.

Maybe Uncle Tom, I mean Uncle Stephen, can swear in Roland “Jefferson” Burris as long as he’s wearing his robe…I would like to see the judge tapping his foot while holding the bible..

News flash, Garrison … Limbaugh used to play that theme for the wonderfully talented former senator from Illinois, Carol Mosely-Braun.

If you can think of a reason not to, I’m sure he’d be pleased to hear from you.

Meanwhile, I’m sure that you’re listening to him far more than I am, so maybe some common sense will rub off on you.

I won’t hold my breath, though.

I’ve seen a lot of dumb headlines from the Post but this has got to be a leader for one of the dumbest.

Was Tony Messerschmitt too busy to do this? He doesn’t know a lot about politics but I think he at least realizes that it is the rule not the exception to be sworn in by someone of your own choosing for many different reasons.

I bet all you white shirt “knee-slappers” find it funny Jim.
Burris and Mosley Braun can have their own sit-com. Title it for us Jim.
Aunt Jamima and Bojangles does DC?
Amos and Auntie?

Let’s play the 3 stooges theme on the radio whenever we discuss Bush/Cheney/Rove.

Knock yourself out, Garrison! LOL

I don’t think we’d find it so offensive — you see — republicans actually HAVE a sense of humor, and see it for what it is.

You all have Mosely-Braun, McKinney, et al. And you sit and wonder why race relations are still strained.

I guess it’s funny if you access to private schools, can find a job that pays above minimum wage, and can afford healthcare for your children….
lol.

If it is acceptable for Chris Koster to choose the judge to swear him in, I don’t see why it would be less so for Lt. Governor Kinder. Whether he wants to send a message by being sworn in by a follow conservative or just has particular respect and affection for Judge Limbaugh, this liberal welcomes it. I didn’t vote for him but he is the duly elected Lt. Governor of the State of Missouri and I see no reason he should not be sworn in by Judge Limbaugh if that is his wish.

Garrison, it is Democrats, and their pals in the NEA, who have blocked programs that would grant poor Americans access to private schools.

Right Nick.
I guess everytime the Republicans block funding for education, it’s because they’re trying to encourage the drop-outs at Vashon to enroll at DeSmet High School.

Garrison — sadly, I actually know democrats who HAVE a sense of humor — but you are just an angry, bitter man.

Methinks you got you ass kicked once too often in school by a republican, and can’t get over it.
