Right move? Judge Limbaugh to swear in Kinder
If you’re the only Republican on stage at inauguration day, why not make a statement.
Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, the lone member of the GOP to win statewide office in November, will have U.S. District Court Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. swearing him in for a second four-year term.
Limbaugh, of course, is cousin to conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh, a Cape Girardeau native.
Four years ago, when he was a member of the state Supreme Court, Judge Limbaugh swore in Gov. Matt Blunt for the term of office that ends in a few hours.
Jay Nixon will get sworn in as governor by State Supreme Court Justice Laura Denvir Stith, who will also preside over the oath of office for Secretary of State Robin Carnahan and Treasurer Clint Zweifel.
Appeals Court Judge Joe Dandurand will swear-in new Attorney General Chris Koster - -who is also Dandurand’s new boss. The jurist is leaving the bench to become Koster’s deputy attorney general.

Ah, jeez. GARRISON with the name calling again.

Since George Jefferson and the TV sitcom theme song that had the lyrics “Hey, Hey we’re moving on up…” came from the TV show “The Jefferson’s.” It is safe to say that the TV show “Good Times.” was just mixed up with the other. It may have been better to mention “Good Times.” Since that show was based on a family in Illinois.
You’re right LU 95…’Good Times’ had “DYNOMITE” which is another commonly used Limbaugh racist mockery of blacks.
Jim, most Republicans are of the Jim Talent physique. More accustom to pushing pencils than shovels. I don’t know any Republicans that actually work for a living. They usually earn their living off the sweat and blood of others.
I feel sorry for Judge Limbaugh that he even has to set eyes on Kinder.
I know you think you’ve got a pair, Garrison, but it’s time to get them off your chin and return them to their rightful owner!
You’re a whiny-baby, Garrison. You constantly belittle anyone who doesn’t believe as you do, but you fail to recognize that half the country does.
The difference is, there are thankfully some mature ones that don’t have to resort to name-calling and belittling of others because of their beliefs, and those are the ones that are getting things done, in spite of you.
Jim…you state I got my ass kicked by some sweater wearing geeky Republican when I was a boy, and then you turn around and claim your maturity and that I resort to name calling and be-littling others…
How typical.
That was a fairly lame headline. Judge Limbaugh is an extremely thoughtful jurist and his personality is the other end of the spectrum from cousin Rush. Anyone who reads Judge Limbaugh’s appellate opinions knows this.
