SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich said he might call President Barack Obama to defend him if he is federally indicted and brought to trial.

Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9 at his home in Chicago on federal corruption charges, including trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Obama.  He was impeached by the Illinois state House one month later and removed from office by the state Senate Thursday.

Blagojevich told Fox News’ Greta van Susteren Tuesday night on her show “On the Record” that he hopes to call “anybody and everybody” he talked to about the senate seat.

When asked if he’d call Obama as a witness, Blagojevich said he “wouldn’t rule anything in or anything out…I would say there’s a possibility, yes.”

Other witnesses could include U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., Obama’s chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada.
