The doctor is in: Sam Page running for State Senate in 2010
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Page
Former Missouri State Rep. Sam Page, who lost a bid last year for lieutenant governor, will seek a return to Jefferson City next year as a State Senator.
The Creve Coeur Democrat, an anesthesiologist by training, confirmed he will run for the State Senate now held by University City’s Joan Bray, who will be at her term limit.
The Arch City Chronicle speculates that Page could have several primary opponents, including State Rep. Jake Zimmerman and St. Louis County Councilwoman Barbara Fraser.

Here’s hoping Jake gets in the race - he’s served well in the House and I think he would make a great senator.
Jake is tough. All three good; cant they run for something else? We need more good state reps, too. Maybe one could run for US Senator if lose for state.
Wow, what a line up of left wingers. Why doesn’t one of them run against Lacy? They all live in the western part of the district and maybe one of them would actually visit.
That seat and district deserve a smart, principled, workhorse to fill the big shoes that will be left behind when Senator Bray is gone. Jake Zimmerman is the guy for the job. The ONLY reason a contentious primary is in the best interest of anyone or anything but a republican candidate is if there would be no heir apparent in the House. If this weren’t solely about ego, Page would realize that losing the race for Lt. Governor, leaving Peter Kinder as the lone statewide republican officeholder, does nothing to commend him to the voters of the district Joan Bray served so well and will do even less to endear him to the party faithful.
Wow Jake! Don’t you have important state business to attend to? Please try to concentrate and learn your current new state rep job and stop playing in the blogosphere. Your turn will come enough.
Hard to blame Page for the close-to-endorsements Kinder got from St. Louis’ lame Democrats. Remember that PubDef video where Wayman Smith introduced Kinder as Barack Obama? Kinder must have slipped Wayman and friends some strong drugs, or else they are the usual money-grubbers. That Page had an uphill battle in St. Louis with Democrats was sad.
Sen Bray effective? heh heh heh. I needed that good laugh.
She sometimes has a difficult time remembering she isn’t representing her Chicago neighborhood - yet.
Jeff O’Connell has all of his backing lined up to run for State Rep. in the 83rd District. I’m sure he’s going to win.
Of course he’s in. The only thing that suprised me was him actually running against Kinder last year. He would have been much better off if he waited until 2012 to run for Lt. Governor. This way he wouldn’t have had to give up his seat in the house and risk having a loss on his record. All his race in 08 did was show that he can be beaten. And whats worse was it was in a bad year for Republicans.
From what I hear, Overland Mayor Mike Schneider is interested and will be in the running. He would give Mr. Zimmerman a run for his money.
