Carnahan taps veteran aide to lead Senate campaign
That new political reporter at the St. Louis Beacon reports that U.S. Sen. Robin Carnahan has recruited a familiar face to run her U.S. Senate bid.
Carnahan, the only Democrat so far to declare her intention to seek Republican Kit Bond’s seat in Washington, has hired former Jefferson City aide Mindy Mazur as her campaign manager.
The Beacon’s Jo Mannies reports that Mazur, a St. Charles native who served previously as Carnahan’s chief of staff in the Secretary of State’s office, won’t begin her new post for a few weeks.
Mazur has been a staffer for Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton, and worked on the unsuccessful campaign of former Missouri congressman Dick Gephardt.
Charter cable customers may recognize Mazur as co-hosting the campaign-season “Midwest Talking Points” with her Republican alter-ego, Ed Martin.

Great hire! Mindy is very sharp, a class-act. Best of luck.
I cannot say that Mindy and I agree on many issues but I know her to be a kind person and a classy professional. I wish her professional success (even if I hope her candidate does not win!). Ed Martin
I can’t say that I understand how Robin would pick a person to run her campaign who would dignify the existence of a lunatic like Ed Martin. Gross!!!!
The Honorable Robin Carnahan couldn’t have made a better selection. Mazur always gives 200%!
