If the Republicans think that running another “9/11″ commercial is the way to win an election, they’re going to be in the minority for a long time.

New York likes carpetbaggers. Bill and Hill, now this guy. If Mr. Murphy really lives in his district and plans to stay there, please accept my apologies. Of course, St. Louis loves the carpetbaggers too. Mr. Gephardt only lived in St. Louis for his first few terms, then D.C. and beach homes, here I come. He kept a condo for his mom and his mail. But at least he and his staff answered letters. Mr. Carnahan (his replacement) does not do that. At least not in my experience. I heard a rumour that the 3rd district was going away under the 2010 Obama census. That’s fine, I am not being represented anyway. BTW, supposedly, it is going to end up in Texas. Perfect, just as many non-voters voting as we have here. Just that theirs are living as opposed to dead like ours.

Yeah, good idea, try them AFTER they committed a suicide attack. He didnt mention anything about a trial, just that he was against the death penalty. Being under indictment certainly didnt stop UBL from planning and executing the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Murphy didn’t say he didn’t support the death penalty without a trial. The whole innocence/guilt/trial thing wasn’t mentioned, as mentioning legal punishments assumes that the trial has already happened, guilt was determined, and the sentencing phase is currently happening. He said that he wouldn’t support the death penalty as a sentence even for terrorists.

Or, maybe you need to quit assuming that you know everything under the sun. bin Ladin’s full name, roughly, is Usamah bin Muhammad bin Awad bin Ladin. Most government agencies use Usama bin Ladin (or UBL for short). It’s the media that uses Osama bin Laden (OBL). Of course, I’m sure that Maureen Dowd and Charlie Gibson are more up-to-date on the issue than the analysts at the CIA, so go ahead and listen to them instead.

That is a positive ad. It never mentions his opponent. It talks about his own record and he is not shy about embracing the president.

I like it. I hope we can export some of that positive approach to Missouri elections.
