Hat tip: Cedric’s manager gets appointment from Nixon

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed St. Louis promoter Eric C. Rhone, manager and confidant of local favorite Cedric the Entertainer, to the state Tourism Commission.
Rhone has long been the right-hand man to Cedric, who was born in Missouri and attended high school in St. Louis County. Rhone’s seat runs through 2012.
In other appointments announced this week, Nixon has tapped St. Louis developer Tony Thompson, head of the KWAME Building Group, to the State Board of Education and former State Sen. James L. Mathewson to the Gaming Commission.
