Blunt, left, and Carnahan

With a new poll entering the fray, the National Journal this week weighed in on what is likely the next Missouri Senate match-up.

The verdict? It could go either way.

Says the Journal’s website:

Given Obama’s victories in North Carolina and Indiana, the fact that John McCain won Missouri (albeit narrowly) shows just how tough it will be for Democrats to take the outgoing Christopher (Kit) Bond’s seat. Democrats are lining up behind Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, while Republicans may have a nasty primary between Rep. Roy Blunt and former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman. The Steelman camp has release showing Carnahan beating Blunt, who will carry the baggage of 13 years in D.C., including a stint in leadership. Carnahan, meanwhile, will be running for the first time as a national Democrat, not just a Missouri Democrat. This will be a very close race.

The poll in question was first reported by the KY3’s Political Notebook, that perennial southwest Missouri scoop machine. The survey highlights Blunt’s unfavorables, though the congressman’s camp has described the effort as a “push poll” — participants were informed of Blunt’s ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff .

I believe that it was Aristotle that spoke in favor of term limits to avoid creating the political aristocracies that we have today.

Robin Carnahan nor Russ Carnahan would not be where she is if it weren’t for her family or their connections. (Neither would Roy’s son Matt Blunt for that matter.) Robin Carnahan is not even capable of wording ballot measures correctly. We need new blood in politics, not these unqualified heirs of political dynasties.

I am tired of the Canahans, Lacy Clays, the GW Bushs and the Freeman Bosley Jrs in the world.
