The red carpet is ready at City Hall

ST. LOUIS — Workers are preparing the pomp at City Hall today, where Mayor Francis Slay and others will be sworn-in for their new terms.

Slay, re-elected by a sizable margin earlier this month, will take the oath for this third term at noon. Comptroller Darlene Green, who ran unopposed, will begin her fourth full term.

Green has asked Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, a St. Louis resident and candidate for U.S. Senate, to introduce her. The comptroller’s swearing-in will be led by Circuit Court Judge Jimmie Edwards.

It’s unclear who will perform the induction honors for Slay.

At the Board of Aldermen, half of the board — including three new members — will take their seats before the board’s first meeting of the new session at 10 a.m.

Woo! Slay got 60% of the vote from the 17% of city residents that votes. That’s a mandate if I ever saw one.

I hate to said it,but it’s obvious that Slay only take care of those that lined his pocket with gratitude.Prime example is him giving major tax breaks to those who buy condos Downtown. Most of these people who move into these condos have never lived in the city or paid taxes in the city, yet they get the big tax breaks, while all the long time residents (including me)get hit with a bigger tax burden to keep city services running.Mayor Slay knows that’s true-Money talks and BS walks!

FYI people:

It’s a swearing IN not a swearing AT.

Keep that in mind…

Mayor Slay is the best mayor St. Louis has ever had. And I have not paid him one dime to be re-elected. Or elected. Or anything. He just does a great job. How else to explain today?

Hey Soapy didn’t say he/she was not a City contractor who got one of those sweet-heart deals from Slay, or maybe one of the do-nothing City employees who stays on the City payroll as long as he/she kisses the Mayor’s you know what. Maybe he/she is one of the many, many PR people the Mayor has on his staff. They need lots of them to cover up the sleaze that oozes from Room 200. Hey, by the way, did you know Slay declared Room 200 City Hall to be an ethics-free zone!
