Cancer survivor Carnahan brings big team to Komen race
ST. LOUIS — Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, a Senate candidate and cancer survivor, will run in this weekend’s Komen Race for the Cure.
And she’s bringing lots of friends.
Carnahan, 47, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. The Democrat detected the condition early, and is now on track for a major campaign challenge next year against Republican Roy Blunt for a spot in the U.S. Senate.
On Saturday morning, more than 30 supporters will run with Carnahan in the annual downtown 5K to benefit cancer research. “Team Robin” includes Young Democrat’s president Martin Casas; Carnahan campaign staffer Mindy Mazur; Laura Egerdahl, a member of Carnahan’s Jeff City staff; and Carnahan’s husband, Juan Carlos Antolinez.

Robin Carnahan will make a great senator…
continuing the legacy of her mother and father…
of championing causes for ALL Missour-ee-ians…
and good luck to everyone…
who participates in this weekend’s Komen Race for the Cure.
llbean - let’s stick to the subject. It’s nice to see an elected official taking part in this race. As far her making a great senator. That’s debatable. She really has done nothing yet besides ride on her family name and coat tails of relatives. Hmmmm…sounds like Ted Kennedy. Ok, cheap shot, let’s wait and see how she performs as Secretary of State before we annoint her. I personally would like to see someone other than her and Blunt.
At least she has nice health insurance.
