Fraser’s State Senate bid to rise with Delmar Loop party

Fraser
St. Louis County Council member Barbara Fraser is getting an early start on 2010, kicking off a bid for State Senate with her first fundraiser next week.
Fraser supporters will gather June 18 with a party at the new Moonrise Hotel on the Delmar Loop — which is just east of the district she is seeking to represent.
Donors are being asked to give at “galactic” ($1,000), “super star” ($500) and “over the moon” ($125) levels.
Fraser, a Democrat from University City, is already facing stiff competition from within her own party: Jeff City veterans Sam Page and Michael Corcoran have signed-up for the race as well. State Rep. Jake Zimmerman is also said to be interested.
The winner of the primary will likely replace Joan Bray, whose tenure at the Capitol reaches its term limit next year. Fraser’s entrance into the race also opens up her county council seat, which she wrestled four years ago from Republican Kurt Odenwald.

Barbara Fraser was my state Representative for eight years. She was so fantastic that I can’t imagine anyone else being better for State Senate in our district. Go, Barbara, Go!
Wait. Her kick-off event is outside the District? Doesn’t she even know where she’s running? A horrible start to an insulting campaign.
It would be nice to have it in the district; just saying.
What a dummy not having an event insider her district. Another political moron.
Candidates have fundraisers outside their district all the time folks…hello!
Y’all are making the dumbest points I have ever seen. I expect such foolishness from notMensa, but c’mon. It’s what…three blocks outside the district?
You who are trying to make something out of this nonissue, should check and see that a majority of large fundraising events are held outside the district.
Barbara Fraser is about as looney as they come — but an extremely nice lady.
That said … I would take ANYONE over Joan Bray in the senate!!!
