El-Amin, brother prepare for weekly radio show on WGNU
ST. LOUIS — State Rep. T.D. El-Amin is used to politics as a family affair. His wife, Yaphett, held the same State House seat before she was term limited three years ago. The pair also served as Democratic committeeman and committeewoman together representing St. Louis’ First Ward.
Now El-Amin, elected to his second term last year, is poised to go on the airwaves with his brother for a weekly radio show on WGNU-AM.
El-Amin and sibling, Larry “Boss” Bastian, already teamed up for a documentary about the city’s gang culture. The radio show will share the same name as the film — “Off the Record.”
The show will air each Monday at noon beginning August 3. El-Amin said it will be aimed “at discussing critical issues as well as engaging solutions,” and moving listeners past the “barriers that have plagued every part of the social, political and economic fabric of this city.”
Since hosting fiery radio personality Lizz Brown — a frequent El-Amin critc — WNGU has changed its format to gospel and Christian music.
But, apparently, the station still has enough room in its line-up for political talk.

Interesting, Jake. So is this a paid segment? If not, the station owners had better pray that the “fairness doctrine” isn’t reimposed.
T.D., my brother, I’ve emailed you and yaphet several times last few minutes for no apparent reason, the last one looking for an address to write your father-in-law; you guys still check your old email when we were in school together? you know who this is; maybe I’ll just have to call the radio show; had one there myself once; best, your brotherBH
That’s nice, but NOBODY LISTENS TO THE STATION.
Gosh Mensa, maybe that’s why El Amin & others are being added to WGNU…..
to attract new listeners. What a novel plan.
I don’t understand why they are putting ban in smoking inside a smoke shop. Then why will people go that shop if they can not smoke there. It is fine if you are putting a ban on smoking in a public places. But people who are going to a smoke shop they are going there to enjoy. SO it is completely ridiculous. However i buy my cigars from http://www.royalhabanos.com/
