Radio waves: Wright-Jones latest to get show on WGNU
The radio station WGNU (920 AM) lists itself as home to “Christian contemporary and gospel favorites,” but it’s getting more political by the day.
Earlier, State Rep. T.D. El-Amin announced that he and his brother, Larry “Boss” Bastian, would have a weekly show on the station beginning Monday.
Today, another St. Louis Democrat, State Sen. Robin Wright-Jones, revealed that she, too, will host her own WNGU program: “The Wright-Side of Politics,” which will air Tuesdays at 5 p.m.
Wright-Jones on-air partner will be former State Rep. John Bowman, who left the State House after being convicted of bribing a bank official as part of a credit card scam.
What’s going on WGNU? Not sure — some AM stations lease the use of their studio for certain time slots, leaving it to the host — if they so chose — to make money by selling their own advertising.
Or, it could be, WGNU is trying to get back to the political audience they had when fiery personality Lizz Brown was in the booth.

I hope Rep’s El-Amin and Wright-Jones discuss why they stood by silently as Jay Nixon removed the only Black curator from the University of Missouri. Rumor has it that Wright-Jones wants to be considered for an appointment to the vacant Secretary of State job if Robin Carnahan defeats Roy Blunt next year.
MOPNS: Sen. Days’ Gamble: “I’ll Trade You an UM Curatorship for a Secretary of State Appointment”

I have stopped listening to Christian radio because of how political it have gotten. I just hope that it is not a religious leader who will be talking politics because on mainstream Christian radio, they have become the most bias, unfair and unloving group of people on the face of the earth. It appears that this station is going in that same direction. Sad.
I don’t listen to any of them anymore and only to sermons now and, if the sermon turns worldly as in the direction of politics I change the station or pop in a CD, which is what I usually do now most of my time in a car which is the only time I listen to the radio.
Abraham, “rumor has it”? Whose rumor? Has your “source” been part of a single conversation among North Side electeds on this issue, or is she using you to settle another score? Your M.O. of hijacking threads to post MOPNS spam links is getting old. Funny how we never heard another word about the other “rumor has it” stories that don’t pan out, like the supposed harassment bombshell.
Maybe Abraham is just mad Robin, or anybody else, will never invite him on their show.
No one listens to WGNU. WHO CARES??????
Is this the Post Dispatch’s new plan for big circulation, waste time on a show that’ll have ten listeners?
