U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt readily admits his Senate campaign will keep him away from Capitol Hill more than usual next year.

But maintaining a well-run House office could be just as important as ever for Blunt  — which is why he has enlisted a trusted aide to keep watch in D.C.

Last week, Blunt announced the hiring of experienced Republican staffer Burson Taylor Snyder as his deputy chief of staff.

Snyder previously served Blunt as communication director in the Republican Whip office and worked on the presidential campaign of actor/former Senator Fred Thompson.

She is also the wife of prominent GOP pollster Pete Snyder, founder of New Media Stratagies, which employs another former Blunt aide, Jessica Boulanger.

Snyder’s latest gig is obviously short-lived: Blunt is giving up his Southwest Missouri Congressional seat to run for higher office.

But, if he’s successful, she should be near the top of the list of those moving up with him.

Roy Blunt ought to keep his day job (at least until he’s voted out).

What Republican in their right mind would vote for a traitor who VOTED FOR THE BAILOUT??

The MO GOP has screwed us again by shoving Blunt down our throats.

If by “shoving down our throats” you mean “is such a strong candidate that he’s become the consensus GOP choice”, then okay.

Please, Louella, come down in off the ledge. Blunt voted no on Obama’s massive pork-filled “stimulus” package, and if you think Robin Carnahan is going to be some kind of fiscal conservative, just keep in mind that she supports it, the national energy tax, and this boondoggle of a healthcare plan.

I’m sorry, but I will happily and enthusiastically vote for Blunt.
