Senate candidate Michael Corcoran pleads guilty to DWI
JEFFERSON CITY — State Rep. Michael Corcoran, D-St. Ann, pleaded guilty last Thursday in St. Louis County Court to driving while intoxicated, according to court records on Case Net. (Tip of the hat to The Turner Report for noticing!)
Corcoran, who part of the crowded field running for the 24th District state Senate seat in 2010, will have to perform 40 hours of community service and be on probation for two years. He’ll also have to attend a victim impact panel within the next six months.
Corcoran also pleaded guilty to failing to drive in a single lane. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Feb. 6.

Assuming this was his “first” offense is this the normal sentence that everyone else gets? I don’t know because I don’t do stupid things like drink and drive. I/we also expect more from our state representatives. You know it’s like subbing your nose at the laws of the state you represent. Represent being the key word here.
So we are clear St. Louis County Cab service operates 24 hours and they do except credit cards for your convenience.
Very typical sentence for first time DWI offender in St. Louis County. 2 years probation, 40 hours community service, SATOP program , and Victim Impact Panel.
On the other hand, he didn’t try to squirm out of it. Faced up to it unlike former Senator Chuck Graham from Columbia.
I don’t care if you are a Democrat or a Republican get out of State Government. These are some of the idiots making laws and should be held more accountable for their actions. There has been at least 2 more recently, the one in Ballwin who left the scene of and accident as well as the one who said his wife was driving but a school camera caught him in a lie. These people have no place in Goverment.
How did he get his car inside the Court ??

Bob Z. is funny….good point!
BobZ: A fine (and funny) point. I’ve adjusted the sentence according. Thanks!, Tony
“Very typical sentence for first time DWI…”
ASSUMING no one was hurt in the act.
This will of course have little to no effect on his political career.
This was not his first offense…and he refused the breathalyzer (please see prior article on the incident).
