Luetkemeyer constituent? It’s the Dems calling about your rep

Luetkemeyer

Freshman U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, who after less than a year in the U.S. House has positioned himself as an anti-Obama provocateur, has got the attention of national Democrats.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced today that Luetkemeyer, whose district includes part of St. Charles County and most of mid-Missouri, is one of 25 members the party will target with robo-calls to their constituents.

The automated calls, starting today, will target Luetkemeyer on health care. According to a script provided by the Dems, the calls will begin with “This is the DCCC with an important message…”

Interesting, because I’m not sure the average voter would recognize right away the abbreviation for the D-Triple-C. In any case, here is the rest of the call:

Insurance companies are posting record profits while health bills skyrocket.  Now they are lining up to stop health care reforms and protect profits. Congressman Blaine Leutkemeyer took almost fifty thousand dollars from the insurance industry and now he’s trying to block reform… like reducing costs by forcing insurance companies to compete and preventing them from denying you coverage. Call Congressman Leutkemeyer today.  Ask him to stop standing up for insurance companies and start standing up for us.

UPDATE: Luetkemyer spokesman Paul Sloca responds:

While real Americans and Missourians are making their voices heard in opposition to the Administration’s disastrous health care plan, Washington outsiders are trying to play politics with people’s health. Blaine supports health care reform that will lower costs and increase access for consumers. But Blaine does not support the current plan being debated in the House because it allows government bureaucrats to make personal medical decisions, raises taxes on small businesses, and undermines Medicare coverage for our seniors. And if the volume of calls to our office is any indication, most folks in the District agree with Blaine on health care, so it seems some people are just plain wasting their time, and ours, on phone calls.

Interesting script.

So is the DCCC saying that Luetkemeyer should stop being a conservative and stand up for the DCCC?

And is the script wrong on the spelling of his name, or is this a typo?

Hey Jim, these are the same geniuses that used Hulshof’s picture to identify Luetkemeyer in a mail piece, and also used a fictitious quote from Luetkemeyer in a television ad. So my guess: It’s no typo.

The Dem’s are showing signs of panic with this tactic……what they don’t realize is that the majority of those receiving the robo calls are firmly against this naked power grab by government to socialize our health care system. In 2012 they will pay the price at the voting booth because voters will not be forgiving.

I’m not scared of Blaine because he can spend millions of his own dollars to defend himself against these awful truths!

We’re with you Blaine. Hey, I’d sure rather you take $50k from the insurance business than from the abortion lobby!!! It’s Nancy Pelosi I want to see go back to California and stay out of my business.

The Post has selected their latest straw man…

it’s appropriate to link to Blaine’s response:

Gee, not only is the Post Dispatch a follower of Saul Alinsky’s Marxist Rules for Radicals, but now the DCCC is also following his principles:
Isolate your enemy and then attack, attack, attack. Nice going again PD!

But whatever you do, don’t report on Russ Carnahan’s town hall forums where he gets laughed at and has to escape out the back to avoid his “angry mob” constituents.

Sure an awful lot of news on those white Reps and Senators. How about Lacy Clay, what’s happening in his messy divorce and coverup?

“…real Americans and Missourians…” Come now, Mr. Sloca. I assure you I am not a hologram. My tax dollars, which unfortunately help pay the salaries of both Luetkemyer and yourself are also quite legal tender.

Trottel!
