Poll shows neck and neck race for U.S. Senate next year
A Rasmussen poll released this week shows Republican U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt and Democrat state Secretary of State Robin Carnahan tied in the race for the U.S. Senate seat up for grabs in 2010. The survey, highlights of which were released Wednesday, showed each potential candidate with 46 percent support among Missouri voters.
Interestingly, the candidates — each one a member of a leading state political family — did extremely well among voters in their respective parties. The poll cites a margin of error of 4.5 percentage points.
The poll includes other interesting tidbits, including voters’ views on Obama and on healthcare reform. Go here for more details.
As far as the likely Senate race, the Rasmussen poll tracks with some other polls, but differs sharply from a Democrat-affiliated poll conducted back in April that showed Carnahan leading Blunt 53-44 among likely voters.

If seems that Princes Robin will need to do more than hide and have her far-left fringe friends attack Blunt.
Come out! Come out, wherever you are Robin!
What would it say if a live Carnahan can’t get elected when a dead Carnahan could?
Robin just spoke at the State AFL-CIO convention last month. Great Job!
Hint….She doesn’t go to teabag parties, gun-shows, or anti-gay rally’s.
Isn’t Queen Nancy coming in to do a fundraiser for Princess Robin?
Any details PD????
Garrison:
Last month?
How about talking to the people that she wants to represent… or does she only talk to union thugs?
You know that union (thugs) make up less than 25% of the workforce right?
MOREd,
Pelosi will be in town to do an event for RUSS Carnahan, not Robin. And the PD and other outlets have already reported that.
Are what are the respective favorables/unfavorables in this new poll?
Statewide I expect Roy carries Matt’s baggage like a rusty anchor.
I am a staunch conservative ((not republican) and have been researching the new world order for 15 years. if you watch this movie you will see it does not matter who you elect. It will put it all in perspective for you. But be prepared to pause it and read to fully comprehend the message. It is by far the most informative on our system yet. I have been saying for 10 years we have a one party system disguised as a two party system. Just trying to wake everyone up to reality. This movie will do it. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ If you care it will be the best 3 hours you ever invested in doing something, I promise.
Roy Blunt is saddled with more then his sons terrible legacy. He is saddled with the fact that he has accepted millions of dollars from insurance companies and is fighting to preserve our health care system in which health insurance companies profit at the expense of rising premiums for working families and an increasing amount of uninsured in Missouri.
Richard - The reason there is an increase in uninsured Missourians is because of the increasing level of unemployment the state is seeing. If President Barack Hussein Obama and his liberal friends were truly interested in helping people get medical insurance coverage, they would be trying to put in place programs to get more Americans back to work. So they could either get coverage through their employer or afford to purchase plans on their own. Instead all they do is propose job killing tax increases and more regulations.
The cure for this economic problem is, as Joe Biden said, “A three letter word… J.O.B.S!” Allow business to keep more of their money. Do not tax their benefits and increase taxes on their profits. Allow them to use those profits to reinvest in their companies, higher more workers, and provide better benefits. You want to see a huge market rally, decrease taxes on dividends and capital gains. Stop punishing America’s workers!
