Steelman

Former Missouri state treasurer Sarah Steelman has decided she won’t run for the Senate next year.

Had she decided otherwise, it could have set up another divisive Republican primary since Rep. Roy Blunt announced he would seek the seat being vacated by retiring Republican Sen. Kit Bond. State Sen. Chuck Purgason has also declared his candidacy for the seat.

On the Democrat side, only Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has announced her plans to run.

Steelman ran a spirited campaign for governor last year against Kenny Hulshof, who won the GOP nomination but lost the governor’s race to Jay Nixon.

Darn…I was planning to vote for her, because there’s a friend of mine I graduated with from high school who worked for her while she was treasurer…

I hope she goes after McCaskill in 2012 as Palin goes after Obama. Good decision on this one Sarah.

Can’t think of a Carnahan that deserves a place in politics..

Blake:

Where is Princess Robin?

Could you ask her, if it wouldn’t be too much trouble to come out among us pheasants and tell us where she stands on issues?

Hope she runs for governor again, then. Anything is better than Nixon.

Comment on the Comments- I wish Steelman would run to be President instead of the idiot Palin. Steelman is much more able to be considered for the Presidency than Palin “The Protector from Russia-her neighbor?!?!?!? And i hope you are not the bird - pheasant. I am not sure if I have ever seen Roy Blunt - among the people until he resently decided to run for office and make it a issue. He left his long term wife to marry a Washington Lobbyist and I think you will see he spend almost all his time in Washington even when the House is out on recess. Roy Blunt’s wife and some children are lobbyist does that mean he is an outsider??? A man that is going to change things?? He is part of the sewer of problems in Washington.
