Biden here Thursday for business, politics
UPDATED
WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden will be in St. Louis on Thursday to promote the success of the economic stimulus package and to help Secretary of State Robin Carnahan raise money for her Senate campaign.
The vice president will appear with Gov. Jay Nixon at the St. Louis County Police and Fire Training Center at 11 a.m. ”to discuss how Recovery Act investments are creating jobs and aiding law enforcement in keeping our communities safe,” according to the White House.
The official event will be followed by an afternoon fundraiser on Carnahan’s behalf at a private residence.
Carnahan, a Democrat, reported raising over $1 million for her Senate campaign in the third quarter, as did Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Springfield, the likely Republican nominee. Sources of the candidates’ money will become public in a few days.

Her campaign must be in trouble if the only one they can get to show up is Biden.
JoeCool..It’s a long campaign season. The President will make several visits.
Who will Blunt bring to town… Palin, Cheney or Limbaugh?
At least this is better than her bozo brother Russ. Russ had Pelosi in town for a fundraiser. Does he know who his base is? Newsflash: the 3rd District is composed of mainly blue-collar democrats. Not socially liberal Pelosi fans.
It just show how out of touch Russ is with his constituents.
So for at least a few hours Thursday afternoon we’ll have an answer
to “Wheeeere in the Worrrrrrld Is Robin Carnahan?
I notice the Blunt paid ad against Robin on this site. What a piece of work.
So……Robin has ties to ACORN! OMG! She’s one of them!
Her and 78 million Americans and 7,000 politicians who once spoke on their behalf or in their regards during the last 30 years.
Beautiful piece of work Blunt…Even the lead-in.
“THE VIDEO SHE DOESN”T WANT YOU TO WATCH”
Something right out of the National Inquier…TMZ?… World Wide Wrestling?
Let me guess….You hired Sarah Palin’s PR firm?
Wowwee,
I live in the 3rd CD. I, and many of my progressive socially liberal neighbors, love Russ and we love Nancy.
It’s not San Francisco, but its a liberal district.
Ed-
I also live in the 3rd district. I am sure that South St. Louis and places like Webster Groves do have socially liberal voters.
Russ also represents South County, Jefferson County and Ste. Genevieve County. Those three places are not socially liberal. They are more likely to be blue-collar, socially conservative Democrats. Middle of the road Democrats that are pro-union and pro-gun and who would never elect Pelosi as their own representative.
Russ needs to remember who his constituents are, not just who his largest donors are.
Maybe Veep Joe can explain why the stimulus for the extra police and fire only went two basically 2 jurisdictions in the state (STL and KC), even though almost every other jurisdiction applied. Is it political? The ones that received the $ tend to vote blue…
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. I could just imagine the firestorm if Limbaugh had uttered those words.
A racist comment if there ever was one but Biden becomes VP non-the-less because he doesn’t have an “R” after his name. My what a double standard the Democrats have. I wonder if Biden intends to explain that comment at the event.
It is a fact that TARP has not created any new primate sector jobs, but has saved some, mostly teachers.
Someone please ask Mr. Biden of an example of a new manufacturing company that has been created with TARP money.
