ST. LOUIS –Democratic Senate candidate Robin Carnahan is in the Middle East for the second time in less than six months, traveling with local Jewish leaders around Israel.
Carnahan, on a trip organized by the St. Louis Jewish Federation, will be meeting with Israeli officials to “better understand the security challenges they face.”
The itinerary includes stops in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Sderot and Gaza.
In addition to strengthening her ties with the St. Louis Jewish community, the trip could give her a glimpse of some of the issues she would face in Congress– or, perhaps one day soon, would debate with presumptive Republican rival Roy Blunt, who has had time to burnish his foreign policy knowledge on Capitol Hill.
A Blunt campaign spokesman notes that the Springfield, Mo. congressman has been to Israel eight times, leading three trips for freshman House members.
In July, Carnahan was in the Middle East, but not for business– she and her husband visited Cyprus and Jordan, taking a break before the beginning of a long campaign season.
Since she’s been hiding from Missouri reporters, can we get somebody from the Israeli press to finally ask Robin about the Carnahan’s shady Wind Power connections?

On a related subject, what will the “separation of church and state” zealots say when Carnahan takes the African-American pulpit tour the week before the election?
Carnahan hopeful she be able to find time for a Missouri Tour in the future.

Robin Carnahan is a perfect example of waste in out state government. She is taking her second trip to Israel in less than six months??? Taxpayers are picking up the tab–this angers me due to the abject stupidity and wastefulness and uselessness of this jaunt. Sh is meeting “to better understand the security issues they face”??? And then what? She shares her wealth of information on international security issue with the Security Council? The President? The U.S. Senate? Maybe to her husband and some friends, which will certainly be helpful to us all.
This is a campaign preparedness trip paid for by us. The weak ass attempt to rationalize it mentioning Roy Blunt is divisive and hideously contrived. Roy is a U.S. Rep and serving the house.
This woman is a career leech on society via politics–and we pay for her to try to learn things, which she never does. She is at best, inept, elitist, and ineffective. Riding on the Carnahan name–which is not much of a saddle to ride on in thye first place.
Bermuda - Where do you see that taxpayers are picking up the tab? As much as I dislike Carnahan, I presumed this trip was on her dime, not ours.
