Sharpton latest to urge NFL to reject Limbaugh’s bid for Rams
ST. LOUIS — Perhaps if the Rams had won on Sunday, the team would offer something else to talk about other than the potential sale to conservative icon Rush Limbaugh.
Perhaps.
As it is, the team’s dismal performance on the field has done about as much to take away from the Limbaugh reaction as the Ram’s defensive line has done to unsettle opposing quarterbacks.
Today, civil rights leader Al Sharpton has joined the chorus of those opposed to Limbaugh owning part of an NFL franchise. Sharpton has sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell saying he was “disturbed” to learn that that Limbaugh has teamed with Blues owner Dave Checketts to bid on the for-sale Rams.
“I would like to request a meeting with you to discuss the myriad of reasons as to why he should not be given an opportunity to do so,” Limbaugh wrote to Goodell. “Rush Limbaugh been divisive and anti-NFL on several occasions with comments about NFL Players including Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb,” who are two of the league’s more well-known African-American quarterbacks.”
Earlier, the head of the NFL player’s union also urged players to speak out against selling to Limbaugh. For what it’s worth, there has been little or no public reaction from St. Louis political officials about selling the Rams to Limbaugh.
Though many at City Hall — which is dominated by Democrats– probably disagree with Limbaugh on the issues, the Cape Girardeau native would keep the team in St. Louis, which may carry more currency in some parts than his political views.

“Limabugh wrote to Goodell.”
???
Editing aside… if you knew nothing else about the Rams, the city or about Rush Limbaugh… knowing that Al Sharpton opposed him buying in to the team should tell you that it is a good thing that Rush do so.
As a more or less Dem and more or less moderate, tho Rush is a jerk, I have no problem with him being an investor in the Rams. Minority investor, and/or limited partner, with no management rights would be ok; management rights more mixed feelings. If the NFL objects, I would respect their right to do so. He certainly has said some stupid and/or controversial things about NFL football; that might have abrogated his right to now be a part of it; but as I said, I have no personal objection. Maybe I should start a moderates for Limbaugh to invest movement. That ought to get me some conservative votes next time; I could use some.

Do you guys have proofreaders? There are two things wrong with this sentence. Can you find them?
Its not like Rush is the only person trying to buy the team thats wants to keep them in St. Louis. There is a SERIOUS bid by St. Louis Native and African American David Steward to buy this team. This would be the first NFL team owned by an African American well.
How can the NFL in good conscience embrace an owner who once said, “The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”
I was reading an article about a 4 year old girl who almost died from swine flu. The town is fundraising to help the family with medical bills. Also, even though their daughter almost died, they are not getting a swine flu shot for their 2 year old, because they are afraid of it.
1) I wonder if Limbaugh has anything to do with their being afraid of the swine flu shot. Limbaugh said he would not get one.
2) I wonder if Limbaugh would talk about this family getting financial help from the town on his radio show, and blast them for having “flat screen tv’s, cable tv, and cell phones.”

Starkey has set up donation jars around town and an account at a local bank to help the Ragans pay Isabella’s medical bills. Her father, Jonathan Ragan, 23, is a welder at a local Caterpillar plant and has good insurance, said Kristina Ragan. Still, it looks like the family will owe at least $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses for the child’s care, she said.
Who the Hell is this AL Sharpton GUY ??? he doesn’t even have a real JOB
if Rush wants to buy a whole team LET him he is a RADIO spokes person
aloow this sharpton dude to explain what he does besides kiss up to JESSIE JACKSON”S ASS
Heh heh - Jake Wagman called Rush LIMABUG. I know that was PROBABLY a spelling mistake, but Rush has a new nickname.
Sharpton = fool

Huh?? The swine flu shot was NOT available to her, or to anybody, when she got sick.
Sedona Sam,
The parents said they will not get a swine flu shot for their two year old, when the shot becomes available. They are afraid of the shot. Why? Could it be because Limbaugh and Beck have said they don’t trust it and won’t get one?
I am shocked that they wouldn’t get a swine flu shot for their two year old, even though their four year old almost died. Unbelievable. Shame on Limbaugh and Beck for spreading crazy ideas.
