A political activist group called Operation Free Veterans for American Power makes a local stop this evening. The group, which is touring the country calling on political leaders to pass energy legislation that cuts carbon pollution and supports “clean” energy incentives, will be at VFW Post 3500, 1717 South Big Bend Blvd. in Richmond Heights at 6 p.m.

It would have been more accurate to call this “a left-wing political activist group.”
According to their website, they are associated with votevets.org, which targeted Republican senators who supported the Iraqi war. They also supported 8 congressional candidates, 7 of whom were Democrats.
They are also associated with the Truman National Security Project. According to Wikipedia, this group’s purpose is “to encourage progressive activists to strengthen their national security background.”
