Roy Joachimstaler, a retired high-ranking officer in the St. Louis Police Department, is slated to become police chief in O’Fallon, Mo., the metro area’s second largest city.
O’Fallon officials confirmed Friday that Mayor Bill Hennessy had selected Joachimstaler for the chief’s job and had picked Keith Riesberg, the city administrator in Sedalia, Mo., as O’Fallon’s new city administrator.
The O’Fallon City Council must approve Hennessy’s selections; the council will consider them at a special meeting Tuesday night.
Joachimstaler, a former deputy chief in St. Louis, would replace Jerry Schulte, who took early retirement about a year ago, and Riesberg would succeed Robert Lowery Jr., who resigned after Hennessy was elected in April.
