For McCaskill, hubby is the star at celebrity-packed state dinner

You know you’ve made it in Washington when you can rub elbows with the rich and famous at an event like President Obama’s first state dinner last night.
Oh, and Sen. Claire McCaskill was there, too.
But those heading to McCaskill’s personal blog page for pictures of her at the event found only one of the senatorial spouse — Joe Shepard, who McCaskill extolled for his patience and support as he donned his penguin suit. (Though Shepard is a wealthy developer, he’s the type that appears more comfortable in Levis than coattails.)
The frenetic Twitter bug McCaskill did not text from the event – mom would find it “tacky,” McCaskill noted — though she did file a report to her followers when she got home: “Amazing” performance by singer Jennifer Hudson, sat near David Axelrod, who chatted about family (and health care), and, hey kids, met the guys who invented Facebook.
McCaskill also noted that the the guest of honor, Indian Prime MinisterManmohan Singh, “seemed genuinely moved by the warm welcome.”
McCaskill was the only Missourian invited to the event, which included a who’s who of Hollywood and the Beltway: Steven Spielberg, Tom Friedman, Katie Couric, and Deepak Chopra, to name a few.
The menu included a mix of Indian and American fare, such as potato dumplings with tomato chutney and green curry prawns.
What happened to the comments already posted? too negative? Anyway, as I said before hope you enjoyed it Claire because you are going to be fired in 2012 anyway….
Read elsewhere how the President added to his growing list of amateurish flubs by making a fatuous reference to himself while introducing the guest of honor. The Delhi newspapers are laughing at him.

How many jobs did that $3 million of TAX PAYERS MONEY create??? NONE.

If Claire was really looking out for Missourians she would have sold herself out for $300 million like the prostitute from Louisiana did on the healthcare bill instead of an invite to a curry buffet at the Whitehouse.

Meanwhile, 466,000 more Americans lost their jobs last week while the political elite threw themselves a big soiree. they should have invited some of the millions of Americans whose jobs were sent to India. These people do not get it.
