JEFFERSON CITY — In anticipation of an important election year in Missouri, the state Republican Party has hired a political director to coordinate efforts across the state.

Chris Roepe most recently worked as the chief of staff for Senate President Pro Tem Charlie Shields, R-St. Joseph. His new job, according to a GOP news releases, will be to work on grassroots efforts and coordinate between the state party and county chairs.

“Thanks to success in recent elections and Democrat over-reaching at the national level, Republicans are as energized as ever,” said Roepe. “As we enter this critical election year, I look forward to working with our many grassroots supporters to build a strong, bottom-up coalition that will lead to Republican victories across the state.”

Republicans are hoping to maintain their control of the Missouri House and Senate in 2010 and will also field candidates for state auditor and U.S. Senate. The Senate race — expected to be between Democrat Robin Carnahan and Republican Roy Blunt, will be the driving force in 2010 election strategy.

Are you sure you got this correct? We’re talking about state government and the article didn’t mention that he was related to anyone in politics. Could this be a trend?

This story is just begining. Hopefully we the missouri voters dont cover are eyes just because some politician decides hes going to do something after the fact. How many people were put at risk for a month. Unacceptable GOV.

Dear whaaaa:

Why don’t you explain what is grammatically incorrect about the sentence he wrote. As a former English adjunct instructor, I doubt you can.

Oh BTW whaaaa, it’s English, not english.

And whaa…can you read? He didn’t speak while giving the statement. It was written, in a GOP news release.

If you’re going to be a critic, at least have some credibility. You have none as far as I’m concerned.

Chris is a bright professional that knows the difference between politics and what is the right thing to do. The GOP is VERY lucky to have him on board!
