State auditor to report on Northeast fire district on Nov. 17
Here’s a report from my Post-Dispatch colleague Elizabethe Holland:
The long-awaited results of an audit of the Northeast Ambulance and Fire Protection District will be disclosed Nov. 17 by Missouri State Auditor Susan Montee in a public meeting on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus.
The public delivery and press conference will begin 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at UMSL’s JCPenney Conference Center, Building 2.
The state auditor’s office began an audit late last year at the request of former Gov. Matt Blunt. The results have been delayed a few times, partly because officials have said they have been denied access to fire district records.
In July, the auditor and Attorney General Chris Koster sued the district, alleging failure to hand over records and failure to comply with the Sunshine Law. And last week, the St. Louis County prosecutor’s office asked the circuit court to remove Northeast board president Robert Edwards from office, alleging he conducted district meetings without a quorum and a majority vote of the board.
Northeast’s finances and other issues — particularly legal fees of fire board attorneys Elbert Walton Jr. and Bernard Edwards Jr. — have drawn scrutiny from county, state and federal authorities.
Northeast is a one-firehouse district in north St. Louis County. It was formerly known as the Normandy Fire Protection District.

One of my favorite songs has the perfect lyrics for the up and coming release of the audit and all of the clowns that were recently elected and those theat were put into upper management positions, with NO upper management skills; also and those few that may get rooms with bars in every room, 24 hour security and 3 square meals.
Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there’s no one around
Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle’s crumbled
And you’re left with just a name
Where’s your crown, King Nothing?
> those theat were put into upper management positions, with NO upper
> management skills
You mean Charlie Doolie?
hmmmm. no. I was talking about the majority of the chief officers and the board and the attourneys.
attorney* sorry
THE ST PETERS AUDIT THAT SUSAN MONTEE DID SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED!!!!!!1
Shame on these officials who are now forcing the fire fighters and paramedics to work, while continuing to delay their pay. These men and women sacrifice life and limb everyday in order to ensure the saftey of the citizens, and this is their reward? I suppose the next time one of these officials or their families is in a life threatening situation the fire fighters and paramedics should take their sweet time thinking about what they should to to resolve the situation. These officials represent the sludge of society and should be ashamed of themselves!
