2008 All-Metro football team

(Chris Lee | Post-Dispatch)
There is a good chance that Post-Dispatch All-Metro Offensive Player of the Year T.J. Moe, left, has played his last down as an offensive player. The Fort Zumwalt West senior gave an oral commitment last May to the University of Missouri, where he is projected to play safety. Moe is fine with that; in fact, he says he’s looking forward to it.
All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year Terry Hawthorne, right, helped the East St. Louis Flyers win their first state championship since 1991 with. Hawthorne, who has verbally committed to Illinois, will play as a wide receiver in the All-American Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 4.
In just his second season as the Hawks’ coach, Hazelwood Central coach Richard Nixon led his team to the Suburban North Conference title and the school’s fourth state championship, and became the All-Metro Coach of the Year.
