Webb City is good at football
They aren’t especially intimidating — maybe it’s those Little League looking powder blue pants — but the Webb City Cardinals have this football thing figured out.
In the playoffs for the 10th consecutive season and the finals for the fifth time since 2000, Webb City looks to be on its way to winning an eighth championship, leading Helias 21-14 at the half.
In Missouri history, only Jefferson City (10), Valle Catholic (9) and Rockhurst (8) have won more championships (MICDS is tied with seven — five as Country Day and two as MICDS).
Boo Rodgers caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Mack Kyle in the first half, and Jeremiah Box has a pair of 1-yard TD runs. The Cardinals have outgained Helias 211-132 in total yards, and Kyle has thrown for 147 yards on a four-for-five performance.
