The Chaminade football team figures to have one of the better quarterback-wide receiver tandems in the St. Louis area over the next two seasons with quarterback Christian Suntrup and wide receiver Brandon Hannah.

Both Suntrup and Hannah will be entering their junior seasons this fall and both already have scholarship offers from rival Big 12 Conference schools. Hannah was offered a scholarship by Missouri earlier this spring and now Suntrup has been offered a scholarship from Nebraska.

Suntrup completed 62.5 percent of his passes (105 of 168) as a sophomore, throwing for 1,362 yards and nine touchdowns against seven interceptions. He also scored three touchdowns.

Hannah, who helped lead the Red Devils basketball team to a state championship last winter, did not play football this past season because of an injury but impressed as a freshman when he caught 14 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns.

Chaminade also has another skill position player college coaches will be keeping an eye on for the next two years. Rob Standard established himself as one of the area’s top running backs this past season, as a sophomore, when he rushed for 2,350 yards and scored 29 touchdowns.

What about posting stats such as height, weight, and maybe even 40 times when recruits are seriously discussed? We’re all looking for that 6′ 5″ QB and 6′ 2″ 225 lb RB that runs a 4.4 forty.

Wow, Nebraska must really be hurting to be grabbing people from Chaminade…

ColumbiaMO,

Going into their sophomore seasons…

Suntrup was listed at 6-2 and 190 pounds.

Hannah was listed at 6-2 and 205 pounds.

Standard was listed at 5-10 and 165 pounds.

Keep in mind these are heights and weights entering their sophomore year of high school, which means all three are probably about 15 or 16 years old and still maturing physically and will get bigger and stronger.

Hannah already looks like a college football player. He has a build very similar to that of Missouri sophomore-to-be wide receiver Wes Kemp (DeSmet High).

Standard is small, but should be a Division I prospect if he continues to get bigger and stronger. He can play.

Sorry I didn’t include this information earlier.

Is MU looking at him? Nebraska has offered three St. Louis Qb’s in the past 4 years (2 Gabberts & Suntrup). The common link they all train together at Elite Football Acadmy. interesting

Wow. they must have faced some preety bad teams to put up those stats. There is no way they would do that against Mehlville.
