The Chaminade football team figures to have one of the better quarterback-wide receiver tandems in the St. Louis area over the next two seasons with quarterback Christian Suntrup and wide receiver Brandon Hannah.

Both Suntrup and Hannah will be entering their junior seasons this fall and both already have scholarship offers from rival Big 12 Conference schools. Hannah was offered a scholarship by Missouri earlier this spring and now Suntrup has been offered a scholarship from Nebraska.

Suntrup completed 62.5 percent of his passes (105 of 168) as a sophomore, throwing for 1,362 yards and nine touchdowns against seven interceptions. He also scored three touchdowns.

Hannah, who helped lead the Red Devils basketball team to a state championship last winter, did not play football this past season because of an injury but impressed as a freshman when he caught 14 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns.

Chaminade also has another skill position player college coaches will be keeping an eye on for the next two years. Rob Standard established himself as one of the area’s top running backs this past season, as a sophomore, when he rushed for 2,350 yards and scored 29 touchdowns.
