Metro-East Lutheran Ends Second In Class 2A Baseball

Metro-East Lutheran mets its match Saturday night as the Knights were beaten by defending champion Olympia High 8-1 in the Illinois Class 2A state baseball finals at Silver Cross Field in Joliet.
The Spartans (30-6) Matt Frahm (9-2) was the winner tossing a six-hitter. Matt Brynildsen drove in the lone Metro-East (27-12) run in the first inning when the Knights grabbed a 1-0 lead.
But it was short-lived as Olympia put five on the board in the second. The big hit of the inning was a two-run double by Spencer Pratt.
