The prize:$25,000 and a spot on T.G.I. Friday’s menu
The winner: Ivan Aviles, who works as a manager at — Chili’s.
No word yet on Aviles’ career plans. (Applebee’s, perhaps? That would be the equivalent of a casual-dining trifecta.)
Here’s a link to his winning recipe, which the Food Network rates as “difficult” and requires 55 minutes to make: Boricua Plantain Sandwich. An adapted version, called Chipotle Grilled Steak Sandwich, is now being served at T.G.I. Friday’s.
