Food is the focus at New York festival
Two big names in food — Food Network and Food & Wine — plus Travel + Leisure magazine have announced the schedule for this year’s New York City Food and Wine Festival, Oct. 8-11.
You’ll find celebrities galore. Martha Stewart will be there, along with Paula Deen, Alain Ducasse, Ming Tsai, Alton Brown, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence… and Alicia Silverstone. (Yes, actress Alicia Silverstone, taking part in a culinary demonstration sponsored by Whole Foods Markets.) Participants also can sign up for tastings, panel discussions, fancy dinners and other sessions. Everything is priced separately, and proceeds go to two hunger-relief organizations, Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength.
Details are available at online, by phone and through festival founder and director Lee Schrager’s Twitter feed: nycwineandfoodfestival.com; 1-866-969-2933; twitter.com/Lee_Schrager.
