Mexican electronic rocker to play Contemporary Thursday night

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

silverio.jpgHere’s a show tip from the Contemporary. Let’s hope it’s as advertised (minus the cop part.)

“Head to the Contemporary for a rare St. Louis performance by Silverio, an electronic rocker who is a phenomenon in Mexico City and abroad because of his party music sound and outrageous live performances.

Silverio is the alter ego of Julian Lede from Chilpancingo, México. Silverio has become the hottest thing to come out of the hottest clubs Mexico. With the motto “Mucho Macho Poco Brain”, his live show sees him strip off to electro synth alongside a team of gyrating dancers - one of whom is a former Playboy Playmate. Silverio’s releases, on the Nuevos Ricos label, have been banned by MTV, Telehit and most TV channels. How crazy do his performances get? His recent performance at Mexico City’s Modern Art Museum was broken up by police.”
