AMP shutters in the Grove

Before you head over to AMP for the those after-hour cocktails…

The Alternative Music Pub (4199 Manchester Ave.) has closed down, according to sources. I haven’t been able to reach an owner as of yet to find out if it’s a permanent closure.

The bar was an anchor in the Grove business strip and highly regarded, especially in its old digs across the street. I liked the old space better, but didn’t mind the new space too much — until they switched to the non-stop, deafening house music. Last week I couldn’t even hear myself talk, much less hear my friends. I had debated ever returning, but it looks like the decision was made for me.
