Meg White surfaces with Raconteurs in Detroit
Matt Fernandes
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Fans of the Raconteurs attending the show last night at the Fillmore Detroit received a jolt when White Stripe Meg White showed up onstage before an encore.

Jack White, whose Raconteurs play here Thursday at the Pageant, introduced his ex-wife and bandmate by shouting, “Hey everybody, this is Meg White!”

At that, Meg left the stage after playing for a bit on Patrick Keeler’s drum kit. The Stripes are on hiatus, but Jack has said the duo has started working on its seventh studio album.

The Raconteurs’ opener Thursday, the Fiery Furnaces, will make a quick return after playing here recently. In August, the Furnaces will officially release a double CD (triple LP) live album titled “Remember” on Chicago’s Thrill Jockey Records.

Reconstructing and rearranging their songs for each tour, the release will document their entire catalogue and will include performances from around the world over the past three years. I was told that the release will be available for purchase at the show Thursday.
