Lo-Fi Saint Louis holds license plate design contest

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

license-plate.pngThe state of Missouri has released the design of a new license plate (left) and Bill Streeter, of the music site Lo-Fi Saint Louis, is not happy about it. “GAWD-AWFUL,” is how he put it.

He’s so ticked, in fact, that he has launched his own design contest where entrants can submit creative plate designs and compete for prizes.

It’s all for fun of course, as Streeter admits he has no pull in Jeff City among license plate design deciders.

Here are the prizes:

The Winner will get a $50 Gift Certificate to the Royale bar, a $150 Gift Certificate to The Improv Trick and various other items. The next 3 runners up will each get a Lo-Fi Saint Louis T-Shirt and a Sticker. The contest ends July 10.

Awesome! I think that plate is terrible too!

I know quite a few people are upset about the plate design and think that the “big wigs” in Jefferson City picked the plate themselves but people forget that the Department of Revenue held a vote for the plate and allowed fellow Missourians to vote for the plate they wanted. I know its on a different scale of importance but its like people not voting for president and whining about who got in.
