Legendary record man Jerry Wexler dies

Jerry Wexler, the legendary record man and music producer died today at the age of 91. Wexler was a music business pioneer who produced the likes of Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Wilson Pickett and Willie Nelson. As co-head of Atlantic Records from 1953 to ‘75, he and his partner Ahmet Ertegun grew the small R&B label into a major record company. At his core, he was simply a record collector, he said.
