The Smashing Pumpkins will release their new single, “G.L.O.W.,” to the public eventually. Before that happens, though, the song will be heard (and mimicked) on the Guitar Hero: World Tour video game (out Oct. 26.)

The song will be part of a downloadable song pack and will also include the Pumpkins tracks 1979 and The Everlasting Gaze. The Pumpkins song Today is included in the initial soundtrack.

In addition, users will be able to play Guitar Hero as the likeness of frontman Billy Corgan.

In November, the Pumpkins will play 20th-anniversary shows at big venues in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and additional cities to be announced. Another run of dates focusing on the band’s debut album, Gish, are on tap for early 2009.
