There’s a new hangout in town and its name is the Bleeding Deacon.

The vibe and décor of the place can be described as ‘dive bar chic.’ You’ll be surprised by how good the food is that’s churned out of a little kitchen by chef Jackson Noon (formerly of Mosaic.)

The Deacon officially opens its doors tomorrow (Saturday) with an open house where they’ll serve up free food and drink samples. There will also be a live DJ.

Mike McLaughlin opened the centrally-located bar/restaurant (northwest corner of Chippewa and Gravois) with Todd Pruett after working in the restaurant industry for a decade. The kitchen will be open until 11 pm each night.

In addition to their regular menu (try the Curly Dog or Hot Volpi Salami sandwich sometime), here are a few items that will be served up tomorrow night:

Mini Curly Dogs with grilled onions and red eyed BBQ sauce on homemade buns

Mini Anise-marinated Chicken Sandwiches with spicy coleslaw

Meatloaf Bruschetta with haricot verts and bourbon ketchup

Veggie Boudin Burger Balls with cherry tomato, onion, and remoulade

The Bleeding Deacon Grand Opening

4123 Chippewa St. (Between Gravois and Oak Hill)

6:00 PM to 1:00 AM
