Wilco to release live DVD, new album
NME reports that St. Louis faves Wilco will release a live DVD, Ashes Of American Flags, in February or March.
The DVD captures the Americana band’s performances at the Nashville Ryman Auditorium and the Tulsa Cain Ballroom in February 2008.
Wilco, led by frontman Jeff Tweedy, are planning to release their next studio album, the follow-up to 2007’s Sky Blue Sky, later this year.
A recent newsletter to fans promised “the usual summer hijinks with a new record and gigs everywhere imaginable.”
Wilco released a live album, Kicking Television: Live In Chicago, in 2005.

Wilco…Being a former resident of Belleville I’ve tried really hard to like Wilco over the years. I’ve listened to their albums, followed Jeff Tweedy’s career, etc. I’ve come to a conclusion…God, they are soooooooo boring! Sorry but it’s true. Every song on every album sounds the same and after I listened to Kicking Television: Live in Chicago I wondered if they had to give everyone in the audience caffeine IVs so they could safely make their drives home!
